Lock Preferences

Lock Preferences define which river locks are prioritized when multiple routing options exist during inland voyage planning.

What Lock Preferences Do

  • Rank specific locks by priority

  • Guide route selection when alternatives exist

  • Improve consistency in ETAs and routing behavior

Lower preference numbers = higher priority (e.g., 1 is preferred over 2).

Add or Edit a Lock Preference

  1. Click ➕ Add

  2. Enter the Lock Name (must match system naming)

  3. Set the Preference number

  4. Save

To edit, update the preference value and save.

How Preferences Are Applied

  • Used only when multiple lock options exist

  • Do not override distance, speed, or real-time conditions

  • Applied to newly planned voyages only
